Week 1 Weigh In

Okay... so its week 1 weigh in... and I've lost 5 lbs!! I'm sooo thrilled you have no idea! I haven't even been dieting for a full week (I started on a tuesday!) but I'm going to weigh myself every Sunday.

I know that this is just the beginning of the diet momentum... the last time I did weight watchers I lost weight just as successfully- at the beginning. I only stuck with the diet last time for probably a good month and in that month I lost about 15-20 lbs (it was 2 years ago so I'm not sure!) but then I just gave up. Well this time I have NO option to give up! I'm dieting until I move back to Pittsburgh on May 15th. I've already pre-paid for the online program for three months and there is no reason I can't. My life style is way different now. I'm a stay at home mom, I don't have to worry about the time constraints of going back to work. I can, and will, do this!!!

Here comes the bride!!

So now I have ANOTHER reason to lose some weight and look my best! We've decided to have a wedding & reception when we go home in May... yes, MAY. So I've only got a few months to shed some extra weight! Only 15 weeks!! BUT If I stick with losing 2 lbs a week that is 30 lbs I can lose before I walk down the aisle! I'm thrilled about this!

We are already married but we never got to have a wedding because of finances. But finally we are in a good place to have a NICE wedding... and I mean nice! We are going to have the reception at the Pittsburgh Zoo. How amazing. I'm sure I will post later with more details on the wedding but I am just soo excited I can't even begin to explain!

Get Ready, Get Set...

I'm gearin up for the start of my diet! I am going to officially start on Feb 1st- exactly one month after I gave birth. However, I've got a head start!! I went out an bought a digital scale today and weighed myself... I've lost 30 lbs already!! Granted that was baby, placenta and water weight- BUT I'm still happy with myself! As of last week I had only lost 15 lbs... so I lost another 15 in ONE week and I wasn't even dieting! Wooohooo, happy dance! I've still got some things to buy for my diet... I'm getting a WiiFit and a subscription to WeightWatchers Online.

I think that starting on Feb 1st is a great idea... I know you're supposed to weight 6-8 weeks after delivery to start to diet but I need to start sooner or I will lose my motivation. I'm not going to go overboard with the exercise at first but just getting the diet down pat should be enough for me to start to lose weight.

My husband is going to the field for about a week and a half at the beginning of Feb and that will help me kick start the dieting b/c I will only be able to eat what i find here in the house!

I'm starting to get super excited!! The loss of 30 lbs without effort is a great moral boster!

a star is born!

On December 31st at 9:49 pm I gave birth to my second daughter. Her name is Peyton Rose and she is the most beautiful baby!! She weighed 5 lbs 13 oz, was 18.9 inches long and came a month early!! What a wondeful NYE gift!!

On December 29th I went to my regular OBGYN appointment and everything was fine until they did a sonogram. In the sono they saw that there was low blood flow through the ambilical cord. They admitted me to the hospital for a 24 hour period, at first. They wanted to do multiple NST's to make sure the baby wasn't in stress.

The NST's came back showing the baby was just fine, but the doctors were still reluctant to let me leave the hospital. They kept having me to tons of tests! Finally on the 31st they said that they would send me home BUT wanted to do a stress test first to make sure if I went into labor that the baby would be okay. NEVER again, in a million years, will I let them do a stress test on me!! It sent me into full blown labor, after the doctor AND the midwife told me that it would not do that. Haha, bunch of lies!!
